Siddhartha Gautama – the Buddha – shared a concept called paticca sammupada or Dependent Co-Arising. In essence, this acknowledges a possibility of Objective/Unchanging Universal Consciousness, yet calls attention to the human experience of consciousness as one which is not separate from form.

Our bodies, our thoughts, our emotions are aspects of creation that come into being in relationship with the world arounds us…..which may include energies, sensory data, other living beings and their actions and thoughts, and non-living objects. In a complex web of life, consciousness arises IN UNION with the world around us.

And, through dependent c0-arising, we can appreciate that our thoughts and “self-ness” shapes the world. The “world as we know it” does not exist separate from the “I” that is knowing it!

Buddha also taught that the end of suffering is cessation of becoming….uniting in relationship where the “Knower” and the “Known” are seamlessly joined, beyond judgment and separation, and completely accepted.

Being in experience of practising what we call “Yoga” has a lot to offer individuals, and the planet, through the practice of all aspects of being in relationship. Relating to what we call “Self”, watching how our thoughts and actions arise, and “yoga-off-the-mat” in co-creating with other souls, and the world around us.

Happy Valentine’s/ Friendship / Loving Relationship Day Everyone!HeartSand
