Breaking old habits and attachments may be one of the golden rules to a life of service, happiness and liberty. Yogi Bhajan taught that the proper flow of energy in the lower triangle (muladhara, svadisthana and manipura chakras) and the balance of eliminative and assimilative life forces is essential to the process of challenging what is Ego and awakening what is Divine Wisdom or Guidance.
Who can do this transformative work? It is ideal at whatever stage you find yourself. It is especially beneficial when pregnant or caring for young children (prenatal and postnatal yoga), because the impact of our own clarity and strength of presence will deeply impact the relationship we co-create with children for whom we are caring. This relationship is essential for the developmental process (physical, emotional, spiritual) for young children, even a growing fetus. Prenatal and postnatal yoga offers tools for challenging your ego and going beyond the resistance and attachments of the human mind that is built over time, as a function of genetic heritage, socialization and environmental influences (such as nutrition and health, toxin loading, etc.).
As we align physically in this week’s yoga classes, let us also challenge our egos and purge at this change of seasons what no longer serves in our emotional-intellectual natures.
