Nourishing Baby, Body and Soul

As “Attachment” – a multi-faceted parenting strategy, gets front page news across the continent (see http://mothering.com/peggyomara/in-the-news/time-is-on-our-side), I’m reminded of the importance of LISTENING to the stories of others as a way to better know ourselves. In a uniquely human way, listening can awaken our own learning about ourselves and enliven our natural sense of “our needs” and “our children’s needs”. This can empower us to follow our own instincts as mothers. Nobody can tell you what is best for you and your child. We all have choices.

In Western culture, breastfeeding and its very real and scientifically recognized benefits are no longer debatable, but the social stigma and culture of breastfeeding appears to still be in its infancy! This one hour online radio publication may be helpful if you are looking for support, ideas, courage and appreciation for other mothers and their children!
